In January 2020, I started a podcast called ‘Intentionally International’ with my friend and colleague Anitra Kitts who lives in Munich. Together Anitra and I explore the gifts, challenges, and quirks of English-speaking congregations in non-English-speaking countries. In our first season which was released (mostly) in November and December 2020, we explore what it means to be a missional-and-inclusive congregation, how English-speaking international congregations can be launching pads for ministry instead of oases, trends in ministry with children and youth ministry in English-speaking international congregations, and how to cultivate multicultural worship. Thanks to Jodi Fondell who gave our first interview a few weeks after the pandemic started as she talked about how the American Church in Paris was responding to the public health crisis.
